Happy Friday...

Just a little cardigan for Willy...I think he's going to love it! I'll do the sleeves this weekend and once it's been shipped and received by Willy I'll post a final finished photo...

Light...

One of my favorite things about living in the Northwest in springtime is the evening light...the new green of the leaves, the bud of flowers, and the sun shining down on it all creating a special light that you only see in the evening. It allows the colors of the yarn to explode when photographed...

Finished Object:

Another Early Morning Beret by Hannah Fettig. The worsted weight version is free on Knitbot.com but she did release a dk weight version that costs a little coin and you can buy it thru Ravelry! Yarn: knit Picks Chroma Worsted in the color Galapagos. Made for a friends daughter by special request! I think it turned out great! So great I'm ready to cast on another one! Bet you aren't surprised by that are you?

Happy Sunday!

And... Happy Birthday to my brother! I hope you and Willy enjoy reading the Zombie nursery rhymes together!

Oh yeah...

I knit this sweater about 2 years ago. Then I packed on some weight and the sweater got put away, which was sad on many levels that we don't need to get into right now... This morning I was lying in bed between attacks of my alarm clock trying to think of what to wear to work. I could hear the rain, so I knew a sweater would be required... Remember I said I was getting my health on recently? Well fast forward to today... I've lost about 15 pounds so far since January so I thought maybe I would try my Idlewood sweater on with my jeans and a long sleeve white shirt...as you see pictured. Well as you can see it fits, it fits better than when I made it! But that's not the best feeling... Oh no... There is a better one... The jeans I grabbed OUT of the dryer this morning and slipped on like nobodies business were not the ones I planned on wearing. I thought I had grabbed my skinny jeans with a touch of Lycra in them... It was not the skinny jeans! It was when I looked down and r

Yup...that really happened

What happened? Are you serious? How do these things happen to you? Well let me explain. I had movie to return to Red Box, a package to send off to Miss A, my purse and my phone all in my hands. Something had to give... I had to make a choice. I had to make it quick. Throw everything to the ground. Or let things fall. A girl can only do so much in baggy pants and heels... Sorry to the FedEx driver out making deliviers. To the little old lady carrying her groceries. The mother and daughter loading up their car. The electrician taking a break in his van. all I can say is... at least my drawers were clean.... and you're welcome for the funny story you got to tell your family/friends... Happy Thursday

Waiting...

The Dogs waiting for D to get home. Yarn waiting to be knit.

It's A Love/Hate Thing...

I love buttons. I love seeing all the different ones out there...the right or wrong button can make or break a sweater you've worked so hard at. I also have a favorite button shop I frequent online, especially when it comes to buttons for my niece and nephews! Buttons By Robin is the name of the Etsy shop that I frequent. Her buttons are all handmade and are perfect for finishing off that latest project... That's where I got these adorable bunny buttons to finish this sweater for Miss A... I think she's going to look adorable in it! 04/18/2012 P.S. I just read this post again this morning and realized that while I posted the Love part I didn't post the Hate part...so here goes; I HATE SEWING ON BUTTONS I LOVE HOW THEY LOOK ONCE THEY ARE ON so there you have it the love/hate of it all. i love the buying, matching, placing of the buttons i hate the sewing on of buttons Happy Wednesday! Finished Object(s)...

A few years back I was surfing thru Ravelry and stumbled upon Hannah Fettig's 'Early Morning Beret' pattern. I tagged it as a favorite and just never went back to that...happens all the time to me, how about you? Anyway, when we were in Arizona a few weeks back I started knitting it (using some of mom's yarn of course) and now 3 hats later I'm casting on a fourth today at lunch. So here you go...3 Hats, 3 different yarns, all fun, fast, and easy! The Pattern is free at Hannah's website http://www.knitbot.com/ check it out and while you're there check out what she has coming up! Yarn 1: Cascade Eco Wool Yarn 2: Knit Picks Chroma Worsted Yarn 3: Cascade 220 Heathers in blue black twist I love them all...the fourth one is going to be in Chroma as well and I apologize for hat #2... I never actually got a finished picture of it before I passed it off to my friend Fati...

Open Season...

September 2011 Actually that should be Season Opener :) I love to play with words... Today is Open Season for the Mini Stocks out at Evergreen Speedway. After a long winter of everyone working on their race cars they get to test out all the tweaks and twists they made to get a few more horses out of them...That's about as much talk about race cars as I can muster right now. You all know what Race Day means for me, right? Get my arse up early and start cranking out the cooking. Thank goodness for dogs because I set my alarm for p.m. and their stomachs run on a.m. so I didn't over sleep. Actually they woke me up at quarter to five so I tossed the chicken stuff in the crock-pot, fed the dogs and climbed back in bed :) Today's menu? Chicken Verde Tacos (2 bags of frozen chicken tenderloins, one jar of salsa verde..a big jar, and 1 pkg taco season, cook on high for 6 hours, shred the chicken serve in soft tortilla's or over rice) they are smelling delicious. I can't help myself...

I love knitting hats... especially beret style slouchy hats that get blocked on plates! Happy Friday...

Casting on...

A lace spring beret. Pattern name: Celine by Cecily Glowik-MacDonald

Please excuse my absence...

I've been sick (again) and I'm not happy about it. Acutally I'm on the mend but it still knocked me out for 2 days last week. However, I have finished a couple things so I'll get those posts together to show you. 1. Is the Multnomah Shawl I was making for my mom. I was going to block it last week but since I was out of commission for 2 days I need to do it tonight. 2. Is another Molly hat by Alana Dakos for my friends daughter. It's a glorious striped version of the hat I made for my niece. The colors are perfect for a little girl and I think she'll love it. I know I do! In the meantime, enjoy these photos of the unblocked hat and shawl... tomorrow they will look completely different! Happy Tuesday
