Phoebes Big Adventure Weekend...

It's been almost two years since we brought Phoebe into our lives. She's changed so much. Her people anxiety has lessened. She loves D and will seek him out for attention. She killed a bunny, but we won't talk about that here... And last weekend we were invited out to a family cabin and were told Phoebe could come along. Well you can imagine my anxiety at this venture. She has rules and sometimes people think they know better than my rules. Well that wasn't an issue. I didn't make it a huge issue. Phoebe shined like the rockstar she has become. It was a weekend of firsts and discoveries. 1. Her first food truck and brewery all in one night.   2. Her first ferry boat ride.  3. Her first time sleeping in a camping trailer. 4. Her first view of Mason Lake, and being the notoriously nosy/curious dogs that boxers are, this deck was right up her alley and then she discovered... 5. Her first Sun Lounger  weekend snuggles at home will ne...

Escapeeee

We had to take a trip to the vet yesterday. Someone has an ear infection. That same someone also has a phobia of the vet. Scene: Vet had a few kitteh's in the downstairs being treated for ringworm and because they use a super special shampoo, the whole office smells like a bad perm convention. All the windows were open. oh this window is open... that's my car I can totally do this, peace out hooman She did not make it. She could have. She forgot about her leash being attached to me. Oh Pig. What am I going to do with you...

Peanut Butter & Phoebe

Is definitely the way to this girls heart. She likes to snuggle but it has to be on her terms. If you just randomly try to snuggle her she'll typically pull back and give you a funny look. Turns out if you give her peanut butter and you've got a game changer. As soon as she had two bites of my pb toast this morning she promptly laid her legs across mine and hunkered down. and no judging on the christmas table cloth still out... it's hiding yarn Too bad it's Wednesday and not a really snuggle day. I could have camped out here all morning. Here are some more random pics of our girl. I know it's been a while. She's doing so good. Still crazy as a mosquito at a blood drive but good. how can you not love this level of crazy and cute? the best This was sunday. she was feeling 'sick' i was worried so Lillian said I could bring her to her house for the night so I could go to my brioche knitting class. as soon as she saw a car r...

Learning New Thangs...

Weekends become more and more whirlwind like the older I get. No matter how many times I try to schedule 'be a sloth' in my day planner it always seems to get crossed off. I'm not really complaining about being busy. Maybe a little. Of course I chose black yarn to knit a swatch in a totally knew stitch because I live on the edge like that. Yesterday Mary, Diana and I motored up to Stanwood, Washington to PinchKnitter Yarns to learn  Brioche Knitting My two color sample with increases and decrease. If you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend it. When it first appeared on the scene I thought to myself 'no f'ing way' but now, I'm quite possibly hopping on a full speed brioche knitting train. much needed half & half and a full guiness for Mary at the end of the day... Here we are! Team America's Knitting! Left to right: Me, Mary, Diana Happy Monday!

Dear Mama

I'm a couple days late with this message, but seeing as how I arrived on your birthday I guess I'm good. Older is older you always say. Older looks good on you I say. I'm so glad I could arrive on your birthday. Big red bow, flamingo watering can& all! I'm sorry the carrot cake cooling on the counter looks like a deflated Jabba the Hut. Being here with you is absolute perfection. Happy Birthday Mama! Here's to funky carrot cake, grouper sliders and the best damn calamari this side of PG :) I love you to the moon & back always and forever... P.s. I'm well into the gin we bought yesterday ;) The Photos: Top: mom & I on Christmas Day 2016 Middle: mom, Rosie & I eating DQ after the Minnesota state fair Bottom: mom at a coffee shop in Beaune France on our trip six and a half years ago.

Snuggle Time

When we said good-bye to Mr. Brown it left a huge crack in my heart. Thank goodness for Phoebe the Pig because she has filled it and then some. The first Saturday as a single dog her and I got up early and just snuggled on the couch. Snuggle Time. We have it every Saturday & Sunday. It's my favorite part of the weekend. We get up at 5:00 a.m. I brew a pot of coffee, feed Phoebe, grab knitting, laptop, kindle and a fluffy blanket and we hunker down for a couple hours. I like to think that she looks forward to it as much as I do. She's come a long way in the 18 months we've had her and being a single dog has shown even more changes and growth. I miss Mr. Brown deeply but I love my little pig so much and love snuggle time.

Oh Friday...

All week I have been dealing with what appears to be the laziest cold ever. One day I have a sore throat, another day its a dry cough, yesterday evening it was a little stuffy in my sinuses, this morning, well we've kissed my voice goodbye. I'm used to more of a cold that body slams me with everything at once and takes me down for a day then I'm on the mend the following days. With all these changing symptoms day to day I'm like a squirrel at a rave trying to figure out which medicine to take for which ailment. So far it's tylenol for pain, delsym for the cough days, and chewing gum for sore throats. Honestly you know I'm in bad shape if you see me pop a halls cough drop I hate them, I hate everything about them ever since I bought a variety that numbs your throat as you suck on them, I was drooling all over the place, my whole mouth was numb. Peppermint chewing gum is my throat soother and if I'm a bit nauseous the peppermint helps with that as well.....
