In the midst of a knitting frenzy.....

My friend Carrie emails me and says......................
Carrie: Can you make this for me?
Me: Make what?
Carrie: A Snood........
Me: Of course
Carrie: good, I want it to look like this.........
Me: That's a cowl
Carrie: They call it a snood
Me: They are silly a snood is totally different
Carrie: But can you make it?
Me: No problem.......
Carrie: Cool. I want it fast......so I'm going to put some pressure on you for it.........
Me: Okie Dokie...........(totally horrified because I have Post Traumatic Knitting Disorder when it comes to items for Carrie, aka PTKD)
and
Voila
The Knitting Sweatshops first Pattern..............
The Carrie Cowl inspired by some over priced machine knit seam showing piece.........

The written piece is coming soon. I know a ton of people who come in to So Much Yarn are looking for just this so I'm going to write it up as a freebie for the shop and also to post on Ravelry!

On another note, this is the weekend for the So Much Yarn knitting retreat. I will be blogging from there so stay tuned for photos of knitters in all states of dress and sobriety.....and I promise....No Knit Underwear!

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
