Favorites...........

I was home in Minnesota recently for a visit with my family and to celebrate the crossing from 36 to 37. We had a great time but I'm scattered right now as I try to think of witty things to say, inspiring things to quote and basically make your day a bit brighter, instead I'm going to show you a few of my favorite photos from my trip and maybe that will do the trick.

Taking Sonny to dinner in Wayzata (Sonny is the name of the boat)

Jake the Snake

Raceway Park in Shakopee Minnesota

My sister in law and best friends daughter sleeping in her Belle Bebe Shrug I knit for her....

My beautiful mother

my nephew and best friends son trying to crack the safe for the pirates treasure I told them was in it......

Sunset on Lake Minnetonka

This picture is bittersweet.....This is Maggie and she has been apart of my family for almost 15 years....Sadly the morning after I snapped this we had to say good-bye to our sweet girl. She will be missed but will be remembered with smiles and laughter and the thought that she can now run thru the gardend at Northome forever.

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
