Ooops My Martha is Showing.....

As in Martha Stewart Homemaker Extraordinairre......Actually as much as a homebody as I am I rarely bake from scratch (if I bake at all) I pull off maybe one or two fancy feasts per year.....Key words here 'pull off' and 'one or two' out of like 50 that I try per year.....
Saturday is RaceDay in our household which means waking up early (for me thanks to Quintus and Gabby) Start baking the muffin loaf, side note here: if you make packaged muffin mix and painstakingly measure it into each little cup, spilling over the muffin pan creating hard little nuggets that you have to chisel off when it's done baking stop right now, crank that oven to 350, grease a loaf pan and dump that mix right in there and bake it for 48 minutes. Trust me, it's way better than silly little muffins. WAAY BETTER. The recipe for it is on the back of my box of muffin mix......Today along with muffin mix I am making No-Bake Cookies. All Recipes dot Com has a wonderful recipe for this, followed by spaghetti with meat sauce.....There are a lot of us who talk during the week to plan this all out and I enjoy it. Meanwhile during this time, we do get up and do our power 90 workout, I do cook breakfast thanks to my handy dandy omlette pan given to me by my mother in law. D loads the race trailer I pack up the food, pack my knitting (i don't know about you but I can't spend 10 hours at a race track without my knitting in the vicinity). Today I'm tempted to toss the coffee pot into the bag to take out there. It's nasty, it's raining, and it has high potential to be cold later. So we are off to the races, I'm bringing a few finished objects so I can use the hood of the car as a backdrop but that will also depend on the weater................ooh there goes the buzzer!! Muffin Loaf. Try it. You'll love it!
Happy Saturday All

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
