Happy Saturday...

Happy Saturday!
It's another race day so I've been up and busy since...well since before I should be on a Saturday morning....

In honor of Cinco de Mayo I'm making chicken tostadas and I made some fresh pico de gallo.

It's possible that you could call my pico de gallo gazpacho...

please don't

I got a little excited with Mr. Chopper and possibly over-pulsed the whole concoction...

not possibly, I really did over-pulse it...

I'll keep you posted on how it turned out. I was too afraid to try it last night.

plus I had a mouthful of ice cream birthday cake and didn't think I would be a fair judge of the taste...

I'll post pictures of the race tomorrow...for now I have to rustle the driver out of bed and get him in first gear...(hahaha I made a race funny)

obviously I haven't had enough coffee and clearly shouldn't be online right now.

I am packing my knitting...

I started a 12th Beret. (notice the small font? I'm whispering)

It's stripey and wonderful.

A intervention might be needed...(not the first time)

However, if you do plan an intervention, come Christmas your head will be cold...Just saying

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!!

oh yeah

Happy Birthday to D (yesterday)
I didn't forget, in fact I did quite well considering that he didn't get his traditional birthday dinner since we were so busy yesterday...

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Someday she'll come to love me, for now I'll respect her tenative personality and love her fro...

I could have used another week...

Last week was wonderful... D and I traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to spend time with Mom and G as well as attend some Cactus League Spring Training Baseball. The weather was amazing (after Sunday and Monday's rain storms) High 80's the rest of the week, and sun sun sun and more sun... Waking up in the morning and being able to lounge on the patio with my coffee. Wearing shorts for a week... and finally... Finally I got to see a cactus bloom! We always come to early in the season for it and it bums me out, but not this time...Nope, this time I got to see it. And it was wonderful more pictures to come as well as a 'Favorite Things' post on what I love to do when I am there...

Happy Birthday Mom!

I know I know, I'm a couple days early but I wanted to make sure you saw it before you sailed off to the deep blue sea... Literally. I've been thinking for a few days on what I would write for you on your birthday. How to best express just how amazing you are and how amazing it is that I got you for my mom. You've given me so much in my life that I am grateful for, that to try and put it into words would take a lifetime. I love the time we spend together. I love the way we laugh together. We've come so far and our adventures aren't over yet. I love you mom. Happy Birthday
