We interrupt your regularly scheduled program...

To bring you summer.
I have family and friends who reside in the Midwest, southwest, and along the east coast...all the reports of sweltering heat, record high temperatures, and blah blah blah...

That has not been the case here...

Mom would call and tell me how hot it was back in minneapolis while I'm adjusting my scarf and debating if I can pull off a wool beret on June 24.

That is how it has been right up until July Fourth. Someone flipped the switch that finally brought summer to the western side of the cascades...

I plan on enjoying it to the fullest...

Happy Wednesday!

Yes!! the weather is great, it is 95 to 100 where I live, enjoying the cooler temps. I love the laid back pic. I know we ae going to try Hobby Lobby as we are going back to Home goods. Thank you for the other recommendations. there is Serial Knitters in Kirkland that I haven't visited yet, I am on their mailing list. Score a grabbag of yarn at Ben Fr. sale, with some goodies in it. Tagged a pic on pinterest you should like, made me think of your pooches.

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
