WIP

This is a wee tiny hat for BW.
Possibly the hat that he'll wear home from the hospital.
I'm using the same yarn I used for the trim on his striped Baby Vertebrae sweater.
I'm going to crack out some booties as well!
The name of the pattern is 'Cable Baby' and is a free download on Ravelry.
It's ridiculously easy, and if you are still on the fence about knitting with cables this hat will help you clear that fence like and Olympic hurtler!

It says to use a circular needle but I find with baby hats that DPN's work much better, or if you prefer magic loop that should work as well.

I need to get hustling on this though, I think the betting pool is leaning towards an early arrival for BW who is technically supposed to be here end of October.

I seriously can't wait to meet him. Not to mention see him all whooled (who-ooled) up in knitwear!

I think BW is going be spoiled with wool by the time he's 2! I have other stuff staged for as he grows but this hat and the booties i'm making are going to be perfect!

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
