A Heavy Hint...

Back in 2011 a knitting book was published by two women named Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne.
The title of the book is Knit Your Own Dog, Easy-to-Follow Patterns for 25 Pedigree Pooches...

Since I obviously have a love for not only my dogs but all four legged furries a friend gave me the book. It has some very cute, very breed correct patterns. I put it on my coffee table and from time to time would glance thru it... #1

I believe it was later in 2011 when my mom sent me a package... Mom is great at sending packages.
As I ripped open the envelope I discovered that she had found the Knit Your Own Dog book and shipped it to me. #2

This Christmas my mom's dearest friend and a man I adore sent both Mom and I a gift in Scottsdale...
You guessed it... #3

I think the message is pretty clear.
I'm going to have to knit someone a dog.
I have 25 to choose from.
Apparently they are easy or so the title says...

They are all dogs you find in the show ring at the Westminster Dog Show...

25 breeds ranging from the Hounds to the Working dogs, Terriers, Sporting and Non-Sporting...

There isn't a Boxer in the lot... (they are part of the Working dog group in case you were curious, althought mine haven't worked a day since they moved in here)

Oh well... Guess I'll have to pick a different dog.

Don, I wouldn't be surprised if  a Jack showed up at your house sometime this year...

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
