Blocking Day!

Sadly though I've been done with this shawl for a while now and just needed a block of time where I could monopolize the dining room table block it...

Pattern is Citron knit in Cascade Eco Wool which is Aran weight. The original pattern calls for lace...

Pattern designed by Hilary Smith-Callis and the original version is free on Knitty I believe the winter 2009 issue.

If you want to do it bigger you can purchase Citron Grande on Ravelry in Hilary's store and she's done all the math for you... Or just knit it in a heavier weight yarn as I did...

Hilary is one of my favorite designers and I've purchased many of her patterns... If you've received the new Knit Picks catalog you'll see two of her newest designs featured... One of them being the cover. I think I'll be buying that soon, there are a few people I know who would love it!

I'm so excited for this to be dry! It's blustery and rainy up here today and I want to be wrapped up in it! (taking a nap preferably)

Gabby was supervising while I was pinning it out...

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
