Countdown

It's the Wednesday before Thanksgiving...
It's crunch time.
It's also question time.

Do I make the pie today or tomorrow when it'll be fresher.
If I make it today and screw it up we have time to run out and buy a new pie.
If I make it tomorrow and screw it up we're eating ice cream.

We are in Florida so ice cream is appropriate
Screwed up pies are not.

However, since I have a wing-it, nonchalant attitude towards cooking and baking and I fancy myself a bit of a risk taker, Sally on the edge person, I'm going to bake the pie tomorrow and what will be will be...

honestly. How bad can a jacked up chocolate pie be?

it's chocolate

if it doesn't set up we'll just pour it over the ice cream...

The sweet potatoes are roasted and cooling on the stove.
The celery and stuffing mix are ready to go...
The bird is fresh and waiting to be roasted
There's champagne in the fridge ready to be toasted...
It's thanksgiving eve and we're all on the move
getting ready for family and to hit the food groove...
May your turkey be plump & stuffed to the gills
May your potatoes be fluffy and hold your gravy wells
baby peas wrapped in butter
and hot rolls on your plate...
eat light today people to prepare for Thanksgiving night!

Well that came out of nowhere!

Tomorrow: Giving Thanks!

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
