Day Off: I do not think this word means what you think it means...

Day off's in the middle of the week are not like a weekend. It's not even really luxurious unless it's a Monday or Friday.
I slept till 8:30 after a 6:00 a.m. phone call from mom.
That was pretty sweet.
but now...
I have a slew of stuff to do that can only be done during the week because of business hours.

All I want to do is lunch with my dad, knit Beans sweater, and make a ridiculous amount of pompoms

Oh and maybe find the pattern for my Shaken or Stirred Sweater for the KAL I'm running. It had all my increase notes on it and I'm not sure where it's landed in the yarn pile...

In the mean time, mom is getting ready to head back to the Minneapolis Burbs for the summer and I'm dreaming of our planned visit at the end of summer... but first mom and I are meeting up in San Francisco in 3 weeks and I can't wait!

peace out.
I should probably shower for the day but it's in protest.

Ha! Hope you find that pattern--Oh, and can I crash your party at that lake house? That looks sublime.
I have Fridays off and am sorry you had to settle for a Thursday...I think mentally it would not feel like a day off to me.

that pictured is just the boat house, the actually house is up on the hill. You can see part of it's roofline in the photo. It's a beautiful place in Minnesota. I can't wait to get home for a week.

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
