The Stash...

We all know I have a big stash.

1.5 years working in a yarn shop added a lot to it.

Mom stumbling onto a windfall of yarn and sending me two suitcases full really stepped things up.

It's really really out of hand.

To the point that I know I have stuff in there and I couldn't tell you where it is...

Some of you may know and some of you may not know that Ravelry has a fancy little tool where you can log your stash so you have quick reference to your yarn and when you see a project you like it'll tell you that you have the yarn that will work for it.

So, taking a deep deep breath.
I'm pulling the whole stash this weekend and I'm going to photograph and log the whole thing.

It's definitely going to take the whole three days.

However, I think that in the long run I'll be happy I did, especially since I have a lot of sweaters I want to knit for myself this year and I'm 99.9% certain I have all the yarn for it.

I just need to find it.

You might want to send prayers and thoughts to D. I'm not quite sure he's ready for the stash to take over the dining room, living room, and part of the kitchen.

Then again, he has a shed full of race car parts.

Mine is prettier.

Pretty impressed you are doing it in one weekend. I'd do one or two totes a week, so I didn't get overwhelmed.

I have a ton of yarn and fiber, at least you have yours all nicely put away in bins. Mine is just packed to the gills on an Ikea shelf in my knitting room. I worry about it constantly. I saw a silverfish in my kitchen sink the other day which I haven't seen EVER in my house. I'm really nervous now! I thought about putting all my stuff into Ravelry too, but I don't have that kind of patience. Good luck!

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

W.I.P

Bears Barn Owl. We had a hockey game last night and while I'm normally so wrapped up in the game that I don't have time to knit, that was not the case last night. Silvertips have had a rough go and the Red Deer Rebels really wolloped them last night. So I knit. I ate some dingleberries. Delicious. and I knit some more. I have a feeling I'll be finishing this bad boy up by tomorrow and he'll be the star of the retreat. Isn't his color wonderful?
