In the Muk where I reside is the cutest Scottish Bistro.
D and I eat there a couple times a month.
Great wine list.
Excellent menu.
Huge selection of Scotch which someday I will try...
I am a big fan of their Black & White Pudding pizza and their half bleu cheese wedge made with romaine lettuce.
He does offer haggis on his menu.
I haven't tried the haggis yet.
Honestly I'm afraid that I will love it and I just don't know if I'm ready to go down that road.
I usually enjoy a glass or more of the Chateau la Freynelle white.
The owner is Scottish.
His adorable wife is from Texas.
So last night we wandered in there for dinner and drinks and I was sporting my Peerie Flooers.
After a glass of wine I started chatting up George about Fair-Isle knitting.
Every Scottish word I said he corrected.
Schooled me on Fair-isle knitting that his grandmother used to do.
Showed us a picture of him wearing a Fair-isle jumper his Gran knit for him when he was a wee lad.
D was laughing so hard.
After we finished eating I whipped out my *latest Fair-Isle project and George came over to watch me for a bit and rib me some more and said 'it takes a long time eh?'
Oh George.
I love your bistro.
P.S.
I'm knitting your wife a Fair-Isle hat and contrary to what you told me I'm sure it's not only the Gran's in Scotland wearing Fair-isle knits.
*my current Fair-isle project is Dollheid by Kate Davies for a friend from work who is heading to Edinburgh Scotland next December. I won't go into how many times George and I went around and around on how to say Edinburgh. Pro-tip: it's not said how it looks.
