SNOW DAY!

We've had more like SNOW DAYS!

Monday though was the day I stayed home because of the snow.

We knit finished my Twistmas Hat for my January KAL and I attached the most beautiful pompom.

We snuggled on the couch.

this is Theo's 'rub my belly' move

We made homemade tomato soup.

We made a really sad loaf of bread that still tastes good just looks ridiculous.

We played in the snow! Theo enjoys eating it. Phoebe enjoys racing around like a demon in it.

We watched the West Wing on Netflix.
I really like watching the West Wing when it's an election year.
The show really breaks down how the government processes work.
Whatever party you swing towards I highly recommend binging all 6 seasons.

Then Dale came home. :)

Tuesday was snowy but my roads to and from work were great.

Wednesday coming to work was great.
Coming home was a nightmare.
Literally was like driving into a blizzard.
The streets of Mukilteo were snow covered ice rinks.
When I got to the bottom of my little hill ready to make the turn into my cul-de-sac I tapped the brakes and slid right past.

Luckily I didn't slide too far and was able to reverse and turn in nice and slow.

knocked back an adult size glass of wine and carried on with our evening.

Hope every one is staying warm and dry and happy.

Knitting and snuggling their pets.

What is it about a good snow day that makes you want to cook all the homey carb loaded things?

Hibernation?
Do you think the cave people hibernated and we've evolved out of it?
I wouldn't mind campaigning to bring that back...

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Someday she'll come to love me, for now I'll respect her tenative personality and love her fro...

Happy Birthday Mom!

I know I know, I'm a couple days early but I wanted to make sure you saw it before you sailed off to the deep blue sea... Literally. I've been thinking for a few days on what I would write for you on your birthday. How to best express just how amazing you are and how amazing it is that I got you for my mom. You've given me so much in my life that I am grateful for, that to try and put it into words would take a lifetime. I love the time we spend together. I love the way we laugh together. We've come so far and our adventures aren't over yet. I love you mom. Happy Birthday

I could have used another week...

Last week was wonderful... D and I traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to spend time with Mom and G as well as attend some Cactus League Spring Training Baseball. The weather was amazing (after Sunday and Monday's rain storms) High 80's the rest of the week, and sun sun sun and more sun... Waking up in the morning and being able to lounge on the patio with my coffee. Wearing shorts for a week... and finally... Finally I got to see a cactus bloom! We always come to early in the season for it and it bums me out, but not this time...Nope, this time I got to see it. And it was wonderful more pictures to come as well as a 'Favorite Things' post on what I love to do when I am there...
