The Mistake......

Because it is there...
the Amish always put a mistake in their knitting so as not to detract from the perfection of God. Well whether I intentionally do it or not, I always have one row that I screw up and just ignore when I'm knitting.
This mistake was probably the result of a vodka soda and which D scolded me quite well for... I think his exact words were "why, why why would even think of having a drink while knitting this shawl?"

That's so minor -- I don't even know if I'd notice it in person! It's better to forget a ridge than a row of eyelets! : )

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing!
