WIP: Three Color Cashmere Cowl

For the first time in probably 12 years, I took a vacation and only brought one knitting project with me. I'll give you a second to get back up off the floor. That's right my peeps, one project. It took a strong dose of reasoning. I had to use all my powers of control to be firm with myself and say 'No way in hell are you fitting that damn bulky sweater in your carry on bag'. Now, I'm not above reorganizing en route to the airport and secretly stuffing D's carry on with a little extra wool, but I do always get caught. I knew we would be busy, all day every day. I knew that we would be tired at night. So my super reasoning powers kicked in and told my 'I am on vacation I can knit a gazillion things!' self that one project was plenty. Thank goodness. I knit on the flight there till the xanax kicked in... then very wisely put the knitting down. I knit in the car on the way to Daytona and at the Can Am Duel races. I knit a couple rows

Make It...

On our recent trip to Orlando we stopped for dinner several times at this local Italian place by our condo. Each time I ordered the Chicken Pallermo. Every. Single. Time. Two chicken cutlets pan fried and tossed with a white wine butter sauce with artichoke hearts, baby peas, and pepperoncinis. Amazing. I found this recipe link when we got home and have been itching to try it. http://www.recipegoldmine.com/ccc/carusos-chicken-palermo.html Welcome Monday. You want a fast tasty dinner? You can crack thus out in less than an hour. I did make a few changes. I nixed the dredging in flour and the frying in butter. Serve with your favorite whole wheat noodles and green veggie and you have a perfect dinner!

Happy Easter!

We are not super religious in our corner of the family. While growing up we did attend the Easter Mass, followed by the Easter Brunch and the Easter Egg Hunt. Lets be honest, Easter Brunch at a fancy restaurant is where it's at, especially when you are 8 years old and your parents let you fill your own plate. Dessert for breakfast! Waffles and Omelettes and a dessert bar that would make your heart stop. My love for Petits Fours came from the Easter Brunch buffet at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle when I was seven years old. I have loved ever since the idea of little individual dessert cakes. Today though is a pretty normal Sunday with the added bonus of Easter dinner at our friends house this afternoon with their extended family. So, I woke up at 6:00 and headed to the store to get ready to crack out some Cheddar Chive and Guinness bread not to mention two Gooey Butter Cakes. I am the girl who loves to get to the grocery store first thing in the morning. I love

New Format Launching Tomorrow...

safety never takes a day off.  If you know me. If you know me well. You know that I function way better with a schedule than by the seat of my pants. I can adapt pretty quick. My husband is laughing right now. I can adjust and be somewhat flexible after a mini sometimes hidden panic attack at a change in plans. For the most part though a plan of action allows me to get more done. The 24 Days of Knitting is a good example. I had every day mapped out a whole month before. It changed. Patterns got shifted in the schedule, some more got added some got cut but the bones of it were solidly in place before Thanksgiving weekend. So every couple years to reinsure my blogging, which I love, and my knitting, which has fallen aside lately with life changes and updates, I tend to do a revamp to give myself a little more structure and maybe include more of the stuff I love. For example Cooking. Dogs. Photography Reading Traveling There will be lots of knitting related po

Revamp

This weekend I am going to revamp my blog format. Structure it up a little for ya. For now though, I hope you enjoy this compilation of what it's like to be kissed by Phoebe the Pig.

Oh Blog...

January was spent recuperating from Christmas and Year End at work. February was spent getting ahead at work so D and I could take off for Walt Disney World, Daytona, Kennedy Space Center, and Universal Studios/Islands of Adventures. Roller Coasters, Car Racing, Rocket Launches, and ButterBeer. O|A|R at House of Blues, The Rip Ride Rocket that caused drool to run out of my mouth.   An Epic solo of the Canadian National Anthem in front of Canada at the Epcot World Showcase. Phew I'm home. I'm not in the midst of spending the first week in March catching up from the last weeks of February. New posts will be appearing soon. Cheers!
