crazy...

That's pretty much a solid description of what my worlds been like lately. The first few weeks of July have had some serious ups and downs. I would say things are starting to level out but I don't want to jinx myself... I think I'll go knock my head head twice on my wooden door. I'm knitting but it's funk knitting. Nothing massively productive but all stuff I want to be productive with, if that makes any sense. I jacked up the heel of my Ivy Trellis Socks and had to rip it back. I set it aside after that and just haven't picked it up again... I started the third contrast color on my mom's color affection shawl and still have 8 repeats of that to accomplish. I finished the straight knitting on my fingering weight simple beret and am ready to start the decreases, BUT I keep forgetting to grab stitch markers... On the other hand I've been reading more... I do bounce back and forth between reading and knitting at nght.  The book I'm cu

Friday

It's been a long week... So if no one minds I'm going to take a Friday nap and snuggle with some alpaca...

3 Day's and 60 Miles

Back in 2007 I signed up to walk the Breast Cancer 3 Day. The training is tough but it's really more toughening up your feet. It's the people you meet. Survivors, family members of survivors, people walking in rememberance of loved ones who were lost to breast cancer. It's a huge grippingly emotional event. I loved it. We all planned to do it again but as it always happens, life got in the way, until this year. Left to Right: Me, Alyssa, Tami, and Amy. Alyssa Tami and I are teamed up again. Part of our team are back together to walk again and make a difference. That's where all of you come in. You can help us make a difference by making a donation to my walk. My Goal is $5000.00 and I am 27% there... Any amount helps. Finished Object: Simple Slouchy Beanie

I knit this up back in June.  I bought the yarn for something else and it just wasn't meant to be, so I made this hat, I made the copy cat Fox hat and I have about 2 skeins left to make something else with... Maybe some bulky mittens are in my future.  It's pretty simple and knits up fast.  Simple is in the name! I have a feeling that once the temperature drops and it's not 85+ in my neighborhood I'll get a lot of wear out of this hat!  I also think I need to go to Ikea and get myself a dresser to hold my knitwear... I'm running out of room in my regular dresser... hmmm.  So here are the details:  Pattern: Simple Slouchy Beanie  Designer: Kelly Kingston Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky in color Crush. Needles: size 10.5 I love it.  The color is me.  The yarn is soft after it's washed.  Oh yes, blocking is a must for this hat, it makes all the difference! Please ignore the light glisten of sweat on my face, It was 9

Last Day

The first photo was the sunset last night.... Followed by beach time today.

Happy Fifth of July

We are away from our stick and daub residence and have set up temporary base camp east of the mountain along the Columbia River Gorge, along with 17 of our friends, plus a thousand other weekend campers. This morning is already setting us up for another gorgeous day... My morning camp hair on the other hand... Happy Friday!
