The countdown...

The Elbow has taken things a little to far. After three cortisone shots, icing, and squeezing exercises, it's just not behaving... Tuesday I went into the MRI tube do the Doc H. Could get a good look at what's going on...wear and tear is what's going on and it's only getting worse.. I can keep getting shots of cortisone but eventually they'll stop being as effective. Surgery will be the best option. That's right. SURGERY Wanna know the worst part? Recovery can take up to five months Five Months 5 FIVE months of no knitting... . . . I'll give you a second to get up off the floor... . . . You read that again didn't you? . . . my friend MzKimba has graciously offered to take care of my stash. However I think I'll just pack it all up and store it somewhere safe till I get the all clear from Doc H. Now all this being said, I have projects that need to be completed, so I'm going to try and schedule the surgery for som

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!

Ripdiddalippdipp it's my birthday!

Heirloom Tomato: Early Morning Beret by Hannah Fettig knit in Malabrigo Worsted...(colorway is actually 'snowbird' but it reminds me of my moms tomatoes) Two and Three are going in a box to mom to distribute to her friends as well as a smocked slouch I have finished... Coming Soon: a. More berets b. a shop sample c. The final finished Baby Sophisticate for Willy...the buttons are on their way to me!

Happy Saturday...

Happy Saturday! It's another race day so I've been up and busy since...well since before I should be on a Saturday morning.... In honor of Cinco de Mayo I'm making chicken tostadas and I made some fresh pico de gallo. It's possible that you could call my pico de gallo gazpacho... please don't I got a little excited with Mr. Chopper and possibly over-pulsed the whole concoction... not possibly, I really did over-pulse it... I'll keep you posted on how it turned out. I was too afraid to try it last night. plus I had a mouthful of ice cream birthday cake and didn't think I would be a fair judge of the taste... I'll post pictures of the race tomorrow...for now I have to rustle the driver out of bed and get him in first gear...(hahaha I made a race funny) obviously I haven't had enough coffee and clearly shouldn't be online right now. I am packing my knitting... I started a 12th Beret . (notice the small font? I'm whispering

6/11

You think I'm talking about June 11? Nope... 6 is the number of Early Morning Berets I've finished, designed by the very clever Hannah Fettig. 11 is the number of berets total that I've knit lately... #12 just went on the needles at lunch... Can't you tell? Even I'm starting to feel a little concerned...

I love this...

I love this picture. Not just for the sweater that I am photographing, because that is wonderful, but for all the things surrounding it... Pictures of William, a picture of Bear, Bird and I after Bear discovered 'photo booth' on my moms Mac and we all stuck our tongues out for a picture. The picture of mom and I in France. The picture of the dock that when not covered by a baby sweater shows Big Brother, Bear, and Bird fishing off the dock. D's race car at the top when he set the track record. This is what I look at every day while I'm at work... It's some of my favorite moments with my family that make me smile...
