Mom says...

I need therapy. I say... I need to knit more leaves Ha!

Limbo

I'm in project limbo right now... So I downloaded the free Tiny Leaves pattern by Alana Dakos of Never Not Knitting and will be knitting them for the foreseeable future... Wouldn't it be great to jump into a knit leaf pile? If I knit enough for a leaf pile you might want to have me committed. Just make sure I can bring my leaves.

The Ravellenics have ended. I finished four *wips and knit three hats. I entered five wips but never got to that fifth one. It's getting entered later today in the 'close but no cigar loser thread' (that's not really the name of it but that's what I'm going to call it) So in no particular order we'll break it down. 24 Hours

I don't even really know how to tell you about our last weekend. We took a trip that lasted less than 24 hours from start to finish. Saturday morning we left our home at 8:30 a.m. with our friends and we caught a train to Portland, Oregon. We were going to watch our hockey team play against the Portland Winterhawks. It's important to note that Friday Portland and areas far south of Tacoma Washington were hit with a snow storm. But, we were taking the train so we weren't super concerned. I packed extra knit items and warm clothes just in case we needed it. Boy did we need it! As soon as we got out of the train station we snagged the first cab we saw and made it thru the snow covered streets to our hotel. Which was a short walk from Memorial Coliseum where the game was being played that night. Checked in, changed our clothes into our team colors, and headed out to walk around a bit and find some pub grub... That's when we realized we were in the m

Huh...

I don't always go to Starbucks. Maybe once every couple months. But... I overslept today and didn't get to have my first cup of coffee at home. I guzzled my travel mug of coffee while bombing down the I-5 and had none once I arrived at work... So I went to Starbucks. This is the conversation. Barista: hi! Would you like breakfast this morning? Me: Yes, I'll have the classic breakfast sandwich. Barista: excellent. Barista: what name for your sausage? Me: huh? My sausage is delicious by the way...

A Glimpse at Glory

Today is the parade for the Seahawks, SuperBowl XLVIII Champions! This is a glimpse of the revelers lining up 4-5 hours before the parade starts at 11:00 The energy in the city is amazing right now. The joy, the excitement, the sheer happiness is every where and  you can feel it every where you go. Happy Hawk Day! What a way to top off an amazing season!

Finished Objects: For the Kiddos

It's been Seahawk Crazy around Seattle lately... I mean prior to us winning the Super Bowl it's been 12th man overload all over Seattle and surrounding areas. It's been awesome. It's a Seahawk love fest that extended to the knitting world. Myra at Fancy Image Yarn in Shelton Washington has been dying up hank after hank of her Seahawk DK Merino. I received my first skein as a gift for Christmas! Thanks again Mary! I made a pair for myself. A pair for baby LOL with pink toes. Well K wanted a pair as well, minus the pink toes. So on the mini yarn crawl a week ago I grabbed up two more skeins and cast on his socks. I also grabbed a skein of cascade 220 superwash sport as a contrast. The pattern I chose to use was Lumberjack by TinCanKnits. Pattern size ranges from baby to adult. It's easy and fun and created a perfect fitting pair of socks for K. The Bonnet: I made this over two years ago. It was supposed to be a gift for another little gir

Weekend Rewind:

Saturday dawned bright and early for me and the coffee wasn't brewing fast enough. I had a casserole to make before leaving the house at 7:15 to drive Gabby down for her biannual senior wellness, bloodwork, and general look over. Her pain level of course is always top if the list, and while the pills are helping, she could use a little more. So we started a cold laser therapy. I think she likes the safety goggles. I like that after the first treatment I can already tell a difference. After the vet, which took two hours, I attached the ribbon to this bonnet I knit two years ago, packaged up Kyle's Seahawk Socks, grabbed the casserole, hopped back in my wagon and was off to wander the back roads of Snohomish. Race season is right around the corner and I needed to not only deliver knit goods I had race parts to deliver. Then there was my teammate from the 3Day's baby shower! Yay!! I promise your blanket will be done before BBKII arrives! THEN.... We
