Christmas you little sneak...

Is it just me or has the Christmas Season been sneaking up on everyone? Not so much sneaking I guess but come barrelling at us like a freight train and me without the wherewithal to figure out if I should feint left, right, or just try to outrun the thing altogether.

I'm ready, but I'm not.
I'm looking forward to it, but then again I'm not.

I don't know what my astrological lunar cycle is right now but it feels wonky and completely off course...and it's driving not only myself nuts but I think D is ready to pull bits of his hair out...

It's a week before Christmas and I know this much;

1. all my gifts for my family in Minnesota have arrived
2. I'm having ham for Christmas Eve (not sure what else with it but there will be ham)
3. D and I are going to make a day of it Friday and do all our Christmas shopping for the Washington Contingent in one fell swoop.

We had our annual Christmas Bash last night and it was just that, a blast. I hope everyone had a good time. I had a good time. It's possible I sang a little Debbie Harry, I know I sang Eye of the Tiger and sadly didn't realize till it was too late that someone had used the video option on my camera to record the performance. Sad, because after my photo shoot of my friend C, her sister C and husband M, we downloaded all the files from my camera onto C's computer including the suspect video...

I'll be suspicious if C suddenly reactivates her FB account...for now I'm erasing my copy of it and hoping it hasn't gone viral from that ones computer.

This is Albert. You all know Albert, lover of all things woolly? He heard a siren in the middle of our photo shoot today and decided to help out with a howl of his own...it was pretty delightful, much like himself...

I know exactly how you feel. I'm ready, but not; most of my gifts are knitted, but one's not done yet -- and I have ends to weave in on others. At least Nathan's gifts are in the house, but still need wrapping and putting together. Gaaah! Less than a week to go.....

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Someday she'll come to love me, for now I'll respect her tenative personality and love her fro...

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

I could have used another week...

Last week was wonderful... D and I traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to spend time with Mom and G as well as attend some Cactus League Spring Training Baseball. The weather was amazing (after Sunday and Monday's rain storms) High 80's the rest of the week, and sun sun sun and more sun... Waking up in the morning and being able to lounge on the patio with my coffee. Wearing shorts for a week... and finally... Finally I got to see a cactus bloom! We always come to early in the season for it and it bums me out, but not this time...Nope, this time I got to see it. And it was wonderful more pictures to come as well as a 'Favorite Things' post on what I love to do when I am there...
