The 24 Days of Knitting starts today!

Are you excited?

I'm excited.

I'm excited for all that I have in store for you over the next month.

Today's project is a biggie but I believe that you all could crack this out by Saturday, blocked, buttoned, wrapped and placed under the tree...

All by Saturday.

Today's pattern is by one of my favorite knitting designers that I have had the pleasure of getting to know thru her blog, social media and testing her patterns from time to time.

Jane Richmond. 

Need I say more?
You know it's going to be great.
It's going to be fast.
It's going to be beautiful.

This pattern is no exception.

Oh how I love this cardigan. I literally knit mine in two days.


It doesn't have the buttons on yet because they arrived in the mail yesterday.

They'll be on by this weekend though and I'll be sporting this bad boy all winter long.

This cardigan will make a great gift for a loved one or a great gift for yourself.

It's perfect to wrap up in early in the morning while still in your flannel bottoms, and it'll take you all the way into your jeans later in the day...

Go on out, get yourself some super-bulky yarn, size 15 needles and whack this out today!

I love this! Doubt it would only take me 2 days but it would go fast with that size yarn and needle!

Aw yay!! So excited to be included in your 24 days of knitting--and kick it off to boot!!! And you always say the sweetest things about my patterns, it always makes my day :) LOVE your Twiggy and super excited to see the buttons on--they are little works of art.

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Of mine and Mary's visit to Allyn Knit Shop & Spinning Supply is live on the America's Knitting website. Remembering...

I don't know what karmic cosmic angels were flitting around today but they led me to the coffee aisle at the grocery store. More specifically it led me to the international moments. Which led me to thoughts of my grandmother. I loved her. I knew deep in my bones that she loved me. Grandma loved her International Moments coffees. Just smelling them. Holding the tin (though it's different now) Brings back memories of being with my grandma. She said these were her special treat and she'd make one for me to. Grandma made the best fresh blackberry pie. I know they were fresh because when she came to visit us in Bellevue she'd make us help her pick blackberries. She was the master of Christmas cookies, chocolate chip cookies and raspberry freezer jam. I make freezer jam from time to time and it reminds me of summer visits to Boise.
