and that's how the weekend rolls.........

A few dozen butterscotch and chocolate chip cookies, 5 hours at the yarn shop today working, well really I knit that fantastically awesome baby rattle that I found on Ravelry. The bell is just loud enough to amuse a baby, and soft enough to not send mom and dad screaming over the brink, at least I think it's soft enough, not being a parent I have nothing to base that theory on except that it probably wouldn't send me over the brink after years of conditioning from boxers who love L-O-V-E squeaky toys.
Also, please note the super soft construction of the toy so that when Baby Girl Peanut gets rocking with her rattle, should she crack herself in the nugget with it, no mark will be left causing passerby's to think unsavory thoughts.......
on that pleasant little ending, I'm off to take the final batch of cookies from the oven, hoping not to burn myself again. It's my turn to bring the treat for the birthday of the month so these are for Chris.

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Someday she'll come to love me, for now I'll respect her tenative personality and love her fro...

Finished Object

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing!
