It all started here...

Here? Where is Here?
Here is Camden, Maine.
Specifically, the Cashmere Goat Yarn Shop.
It's delicious.
Seriously.
They have an incredible variety of yarn, a nice wide open shop with a back room that also doubles as a classroom not to mention holds more scrumptious yarns to squeeze, oooh and ahhh over.
Specifically though, they carry a couple local yarns to Maine.
1. Swan Island yarn (I bought 2 skeins of the Worsted Merino in color Logwood and 1, skein of fingering in natural white... Kicking myself for not buying all they had in stock because it's, it's wonderful)
2. String Theory (I didn't buy a skein of this and don't worry, I've kicked myself plenty for it)

So, as mentioned I picked up 2 skeins of the Swan Island Worsted Merino in Logwood. I already had a project in mind for it. Michelle Wangs Eternity Scarf. It used to be free on Ravelry but was reworked last fall in conjuction with Brooklyn Tweed's yarns and now the pattern is for sale for $6.00 on Ravelry...

totally worth it.
buy it.
You'll make a gazillion of them like I have.

It took me four days to crack this out.
FOUR. DAYS.

It flew off the needles.

Now, not that I'm rushing summer out the door but this girl could use a cold snap to show off her new accessory...
Looks like I'll be driving around with the A/C cranked up in the car again until Mother Nature cooperates.

needs some weaving and a wash but isn't it wonderful?
Details:
pattern: Eternity Scarf by Michelle Wang
yarn: Swan Island Merino in color Logwood
needles: size 9 29" circular

You can order Swan Island directly thru their website here: https://www.swansislandcompany.com/products/yarn-patterns

Or do a search online to see who all carries it... Maybe your LYS has some squirreled away in their store... If they do, snatch it up, snatch it all up, you'll have deep regrets if you don't.

back to Ivy Trellis Sock II using my new Karbonz dpn's I picked up at the Cashmere Goat... I'm still undecided about them but I think a lot of my man friends are impressed that they make carbon fiber knitting needles...

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Someday she'll come to love me, for now I'll respect her tenative personality and love her fro...

I'm not good at keeping surprises a secret...I get so excited that I usually blow it. Well not this time... I knit this sweater for Bump and had the buttons custom madefor it by Buttons by Robin, a wonderful shop on Etsy... She used a photo of Rupert that I emailed her...Rupert is their (Bump, C & M's) family dog... I couldn't post a photo until they had received the sweater which arrived on their doorstep last night... Oh how I wish I could have been there when they got it! It turned out amazing! Pattern: Baby Sophisticate Yarn: Big tweedy Cashmere (lucky boy) Please check out Robin's shop on Etsy I know you'll find buttons you love and she does amazing work!
