Finished Object: Thank You Hat

Yarn: Full Circle Worsted by Knit Picks.
(obviously I ran on for the last 10-12 rows but it works)
Size 6 Needles

I love the way it turned out.
I hated knitting it.

hated it.
said some really really bad things about it.

The Cuff about did me in at one point, but once I tried it on myself I realized it was all worth it and despite my vehemence that I wouldn't knit another... i just might.

I've been meaning to get a new hat out to my little brother for a while now and this hat seemed about perfect for him. I hope he likes it!

You can find the free pattern here at the Purl Bee or you can google 'Purl Bee, Thank You Hats' there are two free versions. the other version doesn't have the big 8" fold over cuff that this one does and I didn't like it as much... I really like this one.

a tip about the yarn: Full Circle feels scratchy as you start knitting with it but as you move along in your project it softens up. I think it's going to be great in Minnesota...

I know I've been quiet lately.
Ever since we returned from Hawaii I've been trying to dig myself out of all the stuff that backed up at work, and at home.

did I mention that I had great plans for knitting while on vacation. I was going to get a huge jump on Christmas and winter birthday knitting...

guess what happened?

I didn't knit a single thing for two weeks...

TWO WHOLE WEEKS!

I'm just as surprised as you are...

Happy Tuesday...

what a great hat! I always bring all this knitting with me and then hardly touch it. It's the sign of a great holiday!

Julie,
It's a great hat! It was free on the Purl Bee blog. It feels great on. I hope my brother likes it... I don't he got a hat last year so this should make up for it!

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Someday she'll come to love me, for now I'll respect her tenative personality and love her fro...

The 'To-Do' list...

and by 'to-do' list I mean 'to-knit' list. I'm really really trying to get on track with this list and stay deeply focused. It has helped that I have successfully removed all yarn from the living room and into Mr. Brown's Yarn shop on the second floor. Except for the fact that I went in there the other day with a shopping bag and loaded up. Currently in the sidelines to be finished 1. Ledge Trail Vest 2. Twiggy for me 3. 70 Yard Mitt for my other hand Finished those bad boys last night! this is what happens when you use the 10s burst hands free option on your iphone and you're holding said phone with your chinny chin chin. On the List: 1. Twiggy for a Christmas gift 2. Iris the Gourmet Monster but since it's for a boy I'm calling it Orvil. 3. Great White Shart Shark 4. Bosco - for me 5. Stillhouse Vest - for me 6. Woodsy - for me 7. Three Seahawk themed hats as gifts. 8. Gifts for friends... and on and on and on If you...

I could have used another week...

Last week was wonderful... D and I traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to spend time with Mom and G as well as attend some Cactus League Spring Training Baseball. The weather was amazing (after Sunday and Monday's rain storms) High 80's the rest of the week, and sun sun sun and more sun... Waking up in the morning and being able to lounge on the patio with my coffee. Wearing shorts for a week... and finally... Finally I got to see a cactus bloom! We always come to early in the season for it and it bums me out, but not this time...Nope, this time I got to see it. And it was wonderful more pictures to come as well as a 'Favorite Things' post on what I love to do when I am there...
