Sunday's

May become the day for random photos and off the handle posts... Like this one.

I'm working on the Churchmouse Easy folded poncho.
1. This is a lot of stockinette. A lot.
2. I've stopped referring to it as my pretty poncho and now it's the big green beast.
3. Every time I show a knitter how far I am on it I expect clapping and a standing ovation... (Please see #1)
4. This has yet to happen.
5. I have currently knit 44.5 inches of stockinette. 44.5 long inches.
6. That means I have 5.5 to go.

I really really in my soul of souls need this off the needles today because I have:
1. All the yarn to make Woodsy Cardy for me. It's my birthday present.
2. The rump of a boxer on needle holders waiting for the rest of the body.
3. A birthday sweater for Beans in the works still.
4. Birthday Socks for me that I, like a knitting idiot, knidiot?, started this morning.
5. I'm in the middle of an America's Knitting KAL sweater...

I could get a lot of these done while this freaking poncho that will be too damn warm to wear when it's finally finished dries.

Oh I feel the pain--but in a different way. I joined a little challenge on a Rav group--Spring Clean and Sweep Those wips away. I thought to myself, what a great idea! I joined. I dug around to see if I even have any wips laying around. Umm right--I have 9! So, casting on new shiny things will be very limited, while I work on those 9, once shiny projects.
The yarn crawl was blast and I came home with more yarn than I ever have before on one of these events.

I better get knitting...

SSYC... My First Official Yarn Crawl...

It's true... I've never actually participated in a yarn crawl or LYS tour. When I worked at So Much Yarn I had the pleasure of working the weekend of the LYS Tour but I've never done it. Well, the SSYC, South Sound Yarn Crawl covers 9 shops that aren't included for whatever reason in the Seattle LYS Tour that covers around 25 shops in the area. Maybe they're too far off the beaten path. It's not because they aren't in Seattle because there are shops way way way out of town that are included in the Seattle LYS tour. Whatever the reason, it's not important. What is important is that Mary and I both took Friday off and hit the road. I caught the 7:15 Ferry to Kingston, Arrived at Mary's about 8:00. Mary and I have the same china. Mine came from my Grandmother, her's came from her mom. Tried making friends with her fluffy dog Mae. Someday she'll come to love me, for now I'll respect her tenative personality and love her fro...

Happy Birthday Mom!

I know I know, I'm a couple days early but I wanted to make sure you saw it before you sailed off to the deep blue sea... Literally. I've been thinking for a few days on what I would write for you on your birthday. How to best express just how amazing you are and how amazing it is that I got you for my mom. You've given me so much in my life that I am grateful for, that to try and put it into words would take a lifetime. I love the time we spend together. I love the way we laugh together. We've come so far and our adventures aren't over yet. I love you mom. Happy Birthday

I could have used another week...

Last week was wonderful... D and I traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to spend time with Mom and G as well as attend some Cactus League Spring Training Baseball. The weather was amazing (after Sunday and Monday's rain storms) High 80's the rest of the week, and sun sun sun and more sun... Waking up in the morning and being able to lounge on the patio with my coffee. Wearing shorts for a week... and finally... Finally I got to see a cactus bloom! We always come to early in the season for it and it bums me out, but not this time...Nope, this time I got to see it. And it was wonderful more pictures to come as well as a 'Favorite Things' post on what I love to do when I am there...
